However, the most important part of your equipment is a tent, especially if you are planning to spend the night out in the open. With the high demand for tents, there are many models differing in both size and material.

Marmot is a brand that offers sturdy and weather-resistant tents that are just perfect for country trips. This particular model comes in an orange-gray variation and provides enough space for two adults to sleep and relax after a long day of hiking.

You won’t have to worry about encountering bad weather or having issues setting this tent up, as the easy-pitch clips and aluminum poles ensure optimal stability. The durable polyester material, featured vestibules, and storage pockets make this Tungsten 2-person tent a versatile choice that is perfect for backpacking trips.

Who Is This Product For?

As we have mentioned above, this Marmot Tungsten tent is able to accommodate up to 2 people, which means that it is not ideal for large group trips. We think that anyone who is enthusiastic about spending time in nature should get this tent. The overall construction and weather-resistance it provides are simply amazing.

What’s Included?

There aren’t any accessories that you will be getting aside from the tent itself. However, apart from the spacious area that it will provide, you are also looking at features such as a full rainfly. The rainfly is adjustable and plays an important role when it comes to staying safe and dry.

Also, there is a roomy vestibule that can work both as an emergency exit/entrance and as an additional storage space where you can put your gear. Furthermore, there are a couple of mesh pockets in which you can place valuables and smaller accessories. Lastly, there is a lampshade pocket that is not a feature in most common tents.

Overview Of Features

Firstly, it is important to note that Marmot is a popular name that does a great job of manufacturing tents for smaller groups of people. The most important trait of this one is that its walls and roof panels are made out of 40d polyester, which is considered to be one of the best materials for this purpose.

That, along with the fact that it is highlighted by a 68d polyester bathtub floor reassures us that rain or heavy wind will not affect your camping experience. Keep in mind that the bottom is also covered by a 2,000mm polyurethane coating for added waterproof protection. Also, it features a 1,000mm polyurethane rainfly that is adjustable and comes with built-in vents for improved breathability.

We have already mentioned that the adjustable rainfly creates a roomy vestibule that can work both ways. It provides enough space for up to 2 people to store their gear.

Due to the vertical wall design, this tent allows enough space for both sleeping and storage. There is also a D-shaped entrance with a jingle-free zipper. The main issue that we have with it is that this tent doesn’t feature any windows.

The setup itself is quite simple, and you shouldn’t have a lot of issues when taking it down, either. Once it is up, this tent measures 88 inches in length, 46 inches in width, and 42 inches in height.

Overall, it is a reliable tent that is able to provide 1-2 adults with a comfortable and spacious sleeping area!

How To Use It

This tent is highlighted by an HD Velocity 7000 Series Aluminum pole frame that ensures great stability. This allows even those with little to no experience to put this tent up within a couple of minutes. Once you deploy it by sticking the poles to the ground and making sure those are connected with easy-pitch clips and a rainfly, you are good to go ahead and enjoy it.

Pros

  • Lightweight and attractive
  • Made out of durable denier polyester
  • Offers great waterproof protection
  • Easy to set up with an aluminum pole frame
  • Offers spacious vestibule and multiple storage pockets

Cons

  • Doesn’t include any windows

Kodiak 8.5×6 ft. 2-Person Flex-Bow

Talking about a product that is once again suitable for a group of two, this Kodiak tent is an amazing alternative. The Hydra-Shield canvas material it is made out of makes it an even sturdier choice. It also features mesh windows that were not present in the aforementioned model.

Yes, it comes at a somewhat higher price, but given how well it stands and the flexibility that it offers, we think this Kodiak Flex-Bow is a worthy choice!

Conclusion

If you are looking to travel in a pair or solo, and you want to get an affordable backpacking tent, then the Marmot Tungsten 2-Person Dome Tent is a choice you won’t regret. It is reliable, weather-resistant, and most importantly, it offers enough room for both sleeping and storage!
